PROFILER® technology originates from research activities conducted at the University of Messina in the field of antibody–antigen interactions and epitope mapping.
The development of this approach led to the filing of a patent that laid the scientific foundation for the creation of Scylla Biotech, a spin-off company of the University of Messina.

Today, Scylla Biotech operates as an independent biotechnology company while maintaining a formal collaboration agreement with the University of Messina, enabling continuous interaction between academic research and technology development.

This academic–industrial partnership supports the advancement of innovative tools for the characterization of molecular interactions, antibody therapeutics and RNA-based technologies.
